Vice Dean I of the USU Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked(PA)., Sp.PA(K), expressed his appreciation to the graduates for successfully completing their education with dedication. The challenges ahead will certainly be even greater after this inauguration process. We must follow all programs well, hoping to gain competence and meeting the administrative requirements and provisions that will be further refined in the future.

Medan, (29/07/2025) – The Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a conferral ceremony for Pediatric Specialist Alumni 654 – 657 on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the USU Faculty of Medicine Hall, 3rd Floor. The event was attended by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Medicine, the Chair and Secretary of the Department of Child Health Sciences, the Head and Secretary of the Child Health Sciences Program, the Professor of Child Health Sciences, the Director of Prof. CPL USU Hospital, the Director of HAM Hospital, and the families of graduates of the Child Health Sciences Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS).

 

The conferral ceremony began with the program director reciting the specialist doctor's oath, followed by the presentation of graduation certificates to the participants who successfully completed their education. This milestone marks the increase in pediatric specialist doctors from the USU Faculty of Medicine who are ready to serve the community.

In his speech, Vice Dean I of the USU Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked(PA)., Sp.PA(K), expressed his appreciation to the graduates for successfully completing their education with dedication. The challenges ahead will certainly be even greater after this inauguration process. We must follow all programs well, hoping to gain competence and meeting the administrative requirements and provisions that will be further refined in the future.

 

"We hope that the newly inaugurated pediatricians will not only excel in medical competence, but also uphold the values of humanity, integrity, and professionalism in every service. Your presence will further strengthen efforts to improve children's health in North Sumatra and throughout Indonesia," he said.

 

“We would also like to thank all departments, study programs, teaching hospitals and networks, as well as all teaching staff who have worked hard for the success of our children who were inaugurated today,” added Dr. Delyuzar.

 

The Director of Prof. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis USU Hospital, represented by Dr. Muhammad Rizki Yaznil, M.Ked(OG)., Sp.OG., Subps.Onk, emphasized the importance of the role of pediatric specialists in developing health services in the community.

 

Everyone knows that specialist education is a long and exhausting character-building journey. We at Prof. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis USU Hospital would like to congratulate all the newly inaugurated Pediatric Specialists.

 

Dr. Rizki Yaznil said, “To the new pediatric specialists, you will face tough challenges, so you must have excellent soft skills to face these challenges to become a priority pediatric specialist in the community. Don't forget to collaborate and work together because wherever you work, you must have this ability in order to establish good relationships with the surrounding community.”

 

Meanwhile, the Director of H. Adam Malik Hospital in Medan, represented by Dr. Faisal Habib, Sp.JP(K)., FIHA, added that the synergy between FK USU and RS USU is the key to success in producing quality specialist doctors.

 

“H. Adam Malik Hospital, which is a central general hospital under the Ministry of Health and also the main teaching hospital for the USU Faculty of Medicine, has long collaborated and synergized with FK USU to run both specialist and professional doctor study programs. Collaboration in education, research, and community service has produced various specialists,” he said.

 

“Of course, we hope that the collaboration that has been ongoing can be enhanced to provide benefits for medical education in Indonesia,” he added.

 

With the conferral of these specialists, the USU Faculty of Medicine once again demonstrates its commitment to fulfilling the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in education and community service. The newly inaugurated pediatric specialists are expected to actively contribute to improving public health standards while also enhancing the reputation of the USU Faculty of Medicine at both the national and international levels.
