The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), has officially unveiled the logo for its 74th Anniversary (Dies Natalis), marking the start of a series of commemorative events celebrating more than seven decades of excellence in training highly qualified healthcare professionals. The logo symbolizes the Faculty's long-standing journey while representing a renewed commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening collaboration, and making meaningful contributions to the advancement of medical education, research, and healthcare services.

The logo launch took place alongside a Fun Walk attended by the faculty leadership, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and members of the USU Faculty of Medicine community. The event was filled with enthusiasm and a strong sense of togetherness, reflecting the spirit of the academic community as they welcomed the 74th Anniversary celebrations.

This year's anniversary is held under the theme, "Advancing Healthcare Through Innovation, Collaboration, and Patient Safety." The theme underscores the Faculty's commitment to continuously transforming medical education through innovation, fostering collaboration across disciplines and institutions, and ensuring that patient safety remains the cornerstone of healthcare development and professional medical education.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, USU, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG., Subsp.K.Fm, stated that the anniversary is not only an occasion to commemorate the Faculty's rich history but also an opportunity to reinforce its commitment to delivering adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive medical education.

"For 74 years, the Faculty of Medicine at USU has played an important role in advancing healthcare in Indonesia through education, research, and community service. Through this year's theme, we reaffirm our commitment to driving innovation, strengthening collaboration with various partners, and ensuring that patient safety remains a fundamental value in every aspect of education and healthcare services. This anniversary serves as a momentum for all of us to move forward together toward a more outstanding and impactful Faculty of Medicine."

The celebration of the 74th Anniversary also aligns with the Faculty's commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by strengthening patient safety-oriented healthcare services, SDG 4 (Quality Education) by advancing innovative and high-quality medical education, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by expanding collaboration with national and international institutions.
