Both institutions discussed strengthening and expanding cooperation related to the implementation of the Hospital-Based Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS RSPPU) at RSUD FL Tobing Sibolga. The discussion covered the hospital’s readiness as a teaching facility, human resource development, improvement of healthcare service quality, and support for the specialist medical education process.

The Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) received an official visit from the Director of RSUD FL Tobing Sibolga on Monday, May 11, 2026. The visit was part of efforts to strengthen relations and reinforce the existing collaboration between FK USU and RSUD FL Tobing, particularly regarding the development of the Hospital-Based Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS RSPPU) at RSUD FL Tobing Sibolga.

The arrival of the Director of RSUD FL Tobing, dr. Masdyana Doloksaribu, MARS, was welcomed by the Vice Dean III of FK USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Dina Keumala Sari, M.Gizi, Sp.GK, Subsp.PK, who was accompanied by Dipa Hidayat as educational staff in the cooperation division of FK USU.

The meeting was then held in the Dean’s office of FK USU together with the Dean of FK USU, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G, Subsp.K.Fm. During the meeting, both institutions discussed strengthening and expanding cooperation related to the implementation of the Hospital-Based Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS RSPPU) at RSUD FL Tobing Sibolga. Discussions included the hospital’s readiness as a teaching facility, human resource development, improvement of healthcare service quality, and support for the specialist medical education process.

The Director of RSUD FL Tobing, dr. Masdyana Doloksaribu, MARS, expressed appreciation for the warm reception provided by FK USU and hoped that the established collaboration could continue to be strengthened through the development of hospital-based education programs.

“We hope that the synergy between RSUD FL Tobing and FK USU in developing the PPDS RSPPU or Hospital-Based Program can run effectively and provide significant benefits, both for improving healthcare service quality and for advancing specialist medical education in the region,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FK USU, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G, Subsp.K.Fm, emphasized that FK USU is committed to supporting the development of hospital-based specialist medical education as part of strengthening healthcare services and promoting equitable medical education in Indonesia.

“Cooperation with RSUD FL Tobing is a strategic step in supporting the development of the PPDS RSPPU or Hospital-Based Program. FK USU is ready to strengthen collaboration in educational, academic, and hospital capacity-building aspects as an educational institution,” he explained.

On the same occasion, Prof. Dr. dr. Dina Keumala Sari, M.Gizi, Sp.GK, Subsp.PK, stated that the development of hospital-based education programs requires strong synergy and coordination among institutions in order to run optimally.

“This meeting serves as an important momentum to strengthen the communication and synergy that have already been established. We hope that the PPDS RSPPU or Hospital-Based Program at RSUD FL Tobing Sibolga will run successfully and contribute positively to improving the quality of specialist medical education and healthcare services for the community,” she said.

Through this meeting, FK USU and RSUD FL Tobing are expected to continue maintaining strong relations and reinforcing their collaboration to support the advancement of medical education and the improvement of healthcare service quality in North Sumatra.
