"However, after today's celebration, a professor must add to the products of his/her tridharma duties as well as become an inspiration for other lecturer colleagues," said Prof. Mury.

The Rector also emphasized the importance of collaboration between academics and industry to create sustainable innovations and be recognized worldwide. The USU Rector is also very optimistic; with 184 active Professors, 29 of whom are from the Faculty of Medicine, USU will soon achieve the standards of a world-class university.

One of the inaugurated professors, Prof. Dr. Sry Suryani Widjaja, M.Kes., said that USU has shown significant progress in medical education, focusing on heading toward the international arena. One important step being taken is to increase the number of scientific publications, including research manuscripts, to strengthen USU's position at the global level.

"We are heading towards international; for example, we at USU are trying to increase the number of published manuscripts and so on," said Sry.

He further said that USU has started research collaborations with leading institutions abroad, such as Singapore, and plans further collaborations with leading universities worldwide.
