Monday, December 12, 2022, the USU Faculty of Medicine received a visit from Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) Taiwan, Vice President of FEMH Dr. Shu-Wen Chang, Chief of Cardiovascular Medical Center FEMH Dr. Yen-Wen Wu and staff. Yen-Wen Wu and staff and were welcomed by the Dean of FK USU Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S (K), Vice Dean I Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked (PA), Sp.PA (K), and Vice Dean III FK USU, dr. Inke Diniyanti Lubis, Sp. A, PhD and staff.



The agenda of this visit was to discuss the plan and signing of the collaboration between Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) Taiwan and the Universitas Sumatera Utara. Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) Taiwan also introduced its profile as an International Medical Center and supporter of medical education. The event included an exchange of souvenirs from FEMH and FK USU. Then the event continued at the Rector Bureau office of the Universitas Sumatera Utara in signing the MOU and was received directly by the Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and USU Cooperation Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Apt.




Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Apt. explained that the signing with Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) Taiwan aims to improve the quality of Prof. Dr. Chairuddin Panusunan USU Hospital. Vice President of FEMH Dr. Shu-Wen Chang explained that the cooperation will be established in the form of special programs and training to improve skills to be more professional in their fields. Seeing the rapid development of technology, Dr. Shu-Wen Chang hopes to integrate artificial intelligence in the health sector such as telemedicine which will further support future health service innovations. The event ended with an exchange of souvenirs from the University and Far Eastern Memorial Hospital Taiwan.
