Specialist Medical Education Program (Sp-1)

The Specialist Program in Neurology of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), established in 1980, studies the skills to diagnose and treat various neurological disorders, including stroke and epilepsy. As Indonesia's 7th neurology teaching center, the program is committed to creating a quality-oriented and modern management higher education environment for its students to compete nationally and internationally.

Graduate Profile

The following is a list of graduate profiles found in Specialist-1 Program in Neurology

Graduates of this study program can work as neurology specialist doctors in general and specialized hospitals and health clinics. They will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with various neurological disorders, such as stroke, epilepsy, migraine, and neurodegenerative diseases.

In medical rehabilitation centers, graduates will be in charge of helping patients to recover from neurological conditions that impair motor and cognitive functions. They will design and implement individualized rehabilitation programs to help patients achieve maximum recovery.

As teaching staff, graduates of this study program can become lecturers and instructors in medical education institutions. They will be assigned to teach medical courses, guide student research, and engage in academic research in neurology.

Graduates of this study program can also open a private practice as neurology consultants, where they will provide medical consultation services, conduct diagnostic examinations, and treat and manage neurological diseases for patients who require specialized care.
