Oncology

Oncology

The neurosurgical oncology specialization focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors where students will learn advanced surgical techniques, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy to treat various types of tumors, both benign and malignant. This specialization aims to develop the ability to perform maximum tumor resection while minimizing damage to healthy nerve tissue. In addition, this specialization also aims to train specialists who can collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology teams in designing comprehensive and personalized treatment plans for patients.
Trauma

Trauma

The trauma specialization in neurosurgery focuses on the management of head, spinal and peripheral nerve injuries resulting from accidents or other traumatic events. Students will explore stabilization, decompression and reconstruction techniques required in emergencies to equip them with the skills and knowledge to manage emergencies quickly and effectively, and reduce mortality and morbidity associated with neurological trauma. In addition, this specialization also aims to develop evidence-based and innovative trauma care protocols.
Vascular

Vascular

The neurosurgical vascular specialization focuses on vascular diseases of the brain and spinal cord, such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and stroke. Students will learn minimally invasive and open surgical techniques to repair or eliminate vascular abnormalities. This specialization aims to train specialists proficient in endovascular and microscopic techniques, able to manage perioperative risks, and improve clinical outcomes of patients with neural vascular disorders. This specialization also aims to strengthen research capabilities in pathophysiology and innovation in vascular therapy.
Pediatric

Pediatric

The pediatric neurosurgery specialization focuses on the diagnosis and management of neurological conditions in children, including congenital abnormalities, tumors, and trauma. Students will learn specialized approaches tailored to children's physiological and psychological needs. This specialization aims to produce skilled and empathetic pediatric neurosurgeons, capable of providing safe and effective care for children with neurological conditions. In addition, the specialization also aims to develop long-term rehabilitation and support programs for young patients and their families.
Spine

Spine

The spinal neurosurgery specialization focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pathological conditions of the spine such as disc herniation, spinal stenosis, fractures, and scoliosis. Students will learn surgical techniques such as decompression, fusion, and stabilization of the spine, both through conventional and minimally invasive approaches. This specialization aims to train neurosurgeons with high precision and expertise to perform spinal surgeries and effectively manage perioperative complications. The specialization also aims to foster innovation in surgical techniques and postoperative care that can improve patients' quality of life.
