The Specialist Program in Pediatrics of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Faculty of Medicine (FK) focuses on education in pediatrics, also known as child health science. Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. I, as Head of the Study Program, am proud to welcome you to our institution, which is dedicated to being an institution organizing pediatrics specialist doctor education with BINTANG values (Devoted to Almighty God, Innovative, Resilient and Wise), towards a center of excellence in the fields of tropical medicine and preventive oncology by 2025 in Southeast Asia. We offer a quality curriculum designed to produce graduates who are competent in the field of pediatrics, have good morals and ethics, have strong competitiveness, and are able to become leaders in a small or broader scope, particularly in the field of pediatrics. We have competent teaching staff committed to teaching as well as conducting research and services that contribute to society. Graduate Profile

The following is a list of graduate profiles found in Specialist-1 Program in Pediatrics

Graduates of this study program can work as child health specialists in leading hospitals and child health clinics. They will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and providing specialized medical care for pediatric patients, ranging from infants to teenagers.

Graduates of this study program can also pursue careers as child health consultants in various private or government institutions, providing medical consultations, designing child health programs, and educating parents and the public about the importance of child health.

If graduates of this study program want to enter the world of education, they can become lecturers or researchers in universities and research institutions. They can pass on the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies to the medical students they teach or through research to develop pediatric medicine.

Graduates of this study program can also pursue a career in international health as child health consultants. Working in global health organizations, they are expected to provide child health services in developing countries and countries in humanitarian crises.
