The Faculty of Medicine USU held an Inauguration and Oath-Taking Ceremony for 160 Doctors from the Undergraduate Program in Medicine and Medical Doctor Profesional Program for the Third Period of the 2024/2025 Academic Year, which took place at the USU Student Hall on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

There were 160 new doctors who took the oath, 103 women and 57 men. Of this number, approximately 97 achieved cum laude honors, which is a source of pride for the Faculty of Medicine USU.

The Dean of Faculty of Medicine USU, Prof. Dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K)., stated that this doctor's oath-taking is part of the initial preparation for graduates to begin dedicating themselves to society. The oath statement should not only be recited but also always remembered because it holds a very profound meaning for every alum from now until the end of their lives.

He also added that the graduates are responsible for working professionally, upholding ethics, and complying with all regulations. For the next year, new doctors will receive training through an intensive program guided by supervising doctors.

"You will always be required to work professionally, uphold ethics, and comply with all regulations. Be agents of change in your respective environments, uphold the good name of your alma mater, and don't forget to always maintain communication," said Prof. Aldy.

"We always strive to oversee the implementation of education at all levels; each study program at the Faculty of Medicine USU is responsible for daily supervision of the educational implementation process," he added.

On this occasion, USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si., who attended in person and also as a representative of the parents of one of the sworn-in doctors, delivered a profound message regarding the medical profession and commitment to the world of medicine. He stated the importance of the doctor's role in determining the health system's quality.

"We know that health issues are the most fundamental foundational issues. Therefore, the most decisive factor in whether our health foundation is good or not, related to medical personnel, is the doctor's position. When choosing the medicine study program, it is good intention and commitment; once that is obtained, it must be seen through to completion," he said.

In addition, he expressed his appreciation to all academic staff for their dedication to guiding the students. He also emphasized that without the contribution of medical personnel, including doctors, a society would not be able to develop well.

dr. Muhammad Alfian Fachrezi, a newly inaugurated doctor, revealed that physical strength and mental resilience were essential aspects of his studies. The process undertaken was not just a challenge but a learning experience. He also said that his success was inseparable from the role of the lecturers, parents, and the grace of God.
