The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) received the International Accreditation Decree for the FK USU Integrated Laboratory following the 2026 surveillance assessment on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The decree was presented in the Dean’s Meeting Room on the second floor of FK USU by Dr. dr. Dedi Ardinata, M.Kes., AIFM, Head of the FK USU Integrated Laboratory, accompanied by Nenni Dwi Aprianti Lubis, S.P., M.Si., and Dr. dr. Muhammad Syahputra, M.Kes. It was received directly by the Dean of FK USU, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G., Subsp.K.Fm. The occasion marked an important milestone in strengthening the faculty’s commitment to implementing international quality standards.
The surveillance results reflect FK USU’s consistency in maintaining the quality of the Integrated Laboratory as one of its key facilities supporting education, research, and the development of medical science. The achievement also serves as further encouragement for the faculty to continuously conduct evaluation and quality improvement. This achievement aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, particularly through the provision of high-quality learning facilities that meet international standards.
The Dean of FK USU, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G., Subsp.K.Fm., expressed his appreciation to all parties who contributed to maintaining the Integrated Laboratory’s international accreditation standards.
“Accreditation is not the end, but rather a motivation for us to continuously maintain and improve our quality standards. Moving forward, we hope that the FK USU Integrated Laboratory will become increasingly excellent in supporting education, research, and the development of competencies among students and the academic community,” he said.
Moving forward, FK USU is committed to using the results of the surveillance assessment as a foundation for strengthening its quality culture, improving laboratory services, and promoting innovations that support internationally recognized standards in medical education and research.
