The Specialist Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) studies the science and art of pregnancy preparation or those related to midwifery, encompassing fetomaternal, fertility, and gynecology. With an accreditation of Very Good (A), this study program is one of the best midwifery education institutions in North Sumatra.
Staffed with qualified and dedicated education personnel to advance students' hopes to become expert midwives and health workers who prioritize skills, knowledge, good ethics, and empathy in order to improve the health of children and pregnant women in Indonesia and globally. Students who have completed this study program will hold the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist (Sp.O.G.) degree.

- Enhancement of the qualifications of teaching staff through advanced doctoral education.
- Enhancement of the performance of teaching staff and students of the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) through training, workshops, and seminars, particularly in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
- Implementation of international cooperation research and writing as well as the acquisition of intellectual property rights (IPR) in various countries.
- Addition of facilities and infrastructure for the learning process, such as improving the quality of teaching materials and teaching hospitals.
- Enhancement of learning process facilities, such as internet connectivity, audiovisual aids, mannequins, as well as laboratory equipment and materials.
- Enhancement of research and community service activities by every academic community member through training activities and direct implementation in society.
