Dermatology Venereology and Aesthetics

Specialist Medical Education Program (Sp-1)

The Specialist Program in Dermatology Venereology and Aesthetics (Sp.K.K.) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is one of the oldest specialist programs in Indonesia, established in 1980 and has now received A accreditation. This study program was established based on the aim of designing students with good academic abilities, knowledge, skills, and experience in supporting the medical code of ethics in Indonesia.

The Specialist Program in Dermatology Venereology and Aesthetics is staffed with competent lecturers with the best professional quality in their fields. Thanks to the hard work of the teaching staff and others, this program has successfully produced graduates capable of applying teachings in dermatological and venereal problems since the establishment of the Specialist Program in Dermatology Venereology and Aesthetics.

History

1980

The Specialist-1 Program in Dermatology Venereology and Aesthetics at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, was established on March 10, 1980, based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 076/U/1980. The purpose of its establishment is to realize the noble aspiration of producing dermatology venereology and aesthetics specialists with a strong foundation of noble character, high quality, international competitiveness, and the ability to address skin and venereal health issues professionally, either independently or in collaboration with others. This aims to achieve optimal results by utilizing available facilities and infrastructure and to meet the demand for dermatology venereology and aeshtetics specialists in the Sumatra region.

To realize the Dermatology Venereology and Aesthetics Study Program of the Universitas Sumatera Utara Faculty of Medicine to become an institution that provides quality dermatology venereology and aesthetics specialist education in 2024, towards a center of excellence in tropical dermatology, preventive oncology, and cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology in Southeast Asia.

Mission remove
  1. To improve the quality of education, research, and community service consistently, effectively, and efficiently, as well as in accordance with advances in science and technology in the fields of dermatology venereology and aesthetics, with good governance and a good quality assurance system.
  2. To produce graduates who become agents of change as a force of modernization in the life of the wider community, who have scientific competence in dermatology and venereology, relevance, and strong competitiveness and behave as professional and ethical scholars.
  3. To realize public leadership through the usefulness of research and community service that impact epidemiology, especially tropical dermatology, preventive oncology, and cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology disorders, which are oriented on product and scientific development.
  4. To realize an independent and professional study program in the management and development of institutions as well as build cooperation with other domestic and international institutions, especially in the fields of tropical dermatology, preventive oncology, and cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology.

  1. To produce dermatology and venereology specialists who have the responsibility of practicing knowledge in the field of dermatology and venereology. Have the knowledge, professional behavior, and skills in clinical diagnostics and medical therapeutics, especially in the fields of tropical medicine, preventive oncology, and cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology.
  2. Produce quality scientific works in the field of dermatology and venereology to develop the prevention and treatment of skin and genital problems in Indonesia, especially in the fields of tropical medicine, preventive oncology, and cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology.
  3. To improve the quality of skin and genital disease services in a thorough, comprehensive, and sustainable manner to overcome and improve skin and genital health in society, through service and community service activities.
  4. To produce agreements through cooperation in the field of dermatology and venereology with various domestic and foreign service agencies to produce dermatology and venereology specialists who excel in knowledge and skills.
