This signing aims to fully support the North Sumatra Governor's work program in strengthening human resource (HR) development through the proposal of a specialist medical education program (PPDS) in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost regions (DTPK), especially in the Nias Islands region. Therefore, it seeks to provide better access to health services for the Nias Islands community by bringing professional specialist doctors directly to the region.

Thursday, May 15, 2025. The Faculty of Medicine USU welcomed the arrival of the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office for the signing of a cooperation agreement to be implemented by both parties.

 

 

 

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K)., accompanied by Vice Dean I, Dr. dr. Delyuzar M.Ked(PA), Sp.PA(K)., and Vice Dean II, Dr. dr. Muara P. Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K)., welcomed the Head of the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office, H. M. Faisal Hasrimy, AP., M.AP.

 

 

 

This signing aims to fully support the North Sumatra Governor's work program in strengthening human resource (HR) development through the proposal of a specialist medical education program (PPDS) in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost regions (DTPK), especially in the Nias Islands region. Therefore, it seeks to provide better access to health services for the Nias Islands community by bringing professional specialist doctors directly to the region.

 

 

 

In 2025, this specialist medical education program is planned to include seven (7) types of specialist programs and five (5) types of specialists for the residency program to be implemented at the Nias Islands Regional General Hospital (RSUD). This program will be continuously developed to meet the need for specialist doctors at the Nias Regional Hospital, which is currently estimated at 21 people.

 

 

 

This program hopes to realize the equalization and improvement of health service quality in the Nias Islands and sustain the foundation of HR development in the health sector.
