The meeting marked an initial step in finalizing the implementation of PKKMB, which will be attended by new students of the 2026/2027 Academic Year.

The meeting was led by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs of FK USU, Prof. dr. Ayodhia Pitaloka Pasaribu, M.Ked(Ped), Sp.A(K), Ph.D(CTM), and attended by the Chair of the FK USU PKKMB Committee, dr. O.K. Ilham Abdullah Irsyam, Sp.OT, CF, AIFO-K, along with the PKKMB committee members. The meeting covered coordination on event preparations, division of responsibilities among committees, agenda development, and technical arrangements to ensure that the entire PKKMB program runs in an orderly and safe manner while providing a meaningful learning experience for new students.

Prof. Ayodhia emphasized that PKKMB is an important opportunity for new students to become familiar with academic life in higher education. Therefore, all committee members are expected to organize activities that are educational, inclusive, and reflective of the values upheld by FK USU.

PKKMB aims to introduce new students to the campus environment, learning systems, and various academic facilities and services available at FK USU. The program is expected to help students adapt to university life while understanding their rights, obligations, and responsibilities as members of the academic community. This effort supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by promoting quality education from the beginning of students’ academic journey and fostering a conducive learning environment.

In addition, PKKMB is designed to foster appropriate ethics and behavior in students’ interactions with lecturers, academic staff, senior students, and fellow students. The prepared materials aim to cultivate discipline, responsibility, solidarity, and pride in the university community. New students will also be introduced to national values, patriotism, and the importance of developing their potential throughout their medical education.

The implementation of PKKMB also serves as a means of strengthening collaboration among faculty leaders, lecturers, academic staff, and students in creating a collaborative academic environment. This is in line with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through strengthened cooperation among members of the academic community to support successful educational processes.

Through thorough preparation and solid coordination, FK USU is committed to organizing PKKMB 2026 as a platform that not only introduces new students to campus life but also helps shape students who are integrity-driven, disciplined, nationally minded, and prepared to become professional, compassionate, and globally competitive healthcare professionals.
