The second day of the Medical Doctor Professional Program accreditation site assessment at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) was dedicated to visits to three clinical education sites: Adam Malik General Hospital, Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Hospital, and Simpang Limun Community Health Center (Puskesmas Simpang Limun). The visits formed part of the verification process for the implementation of the Medical Doctor Professional Program while evaluating the readiness of each teaching facility to support students' clinical education.

The first visit took place at Adam Malik General Hospital, the primary teaching hospital of FK USU. The assessment team was welcomed by the hospital's President Director, dr. Zainal Safri, M.Ked(PD), Sp.PD-KKV, Sp.JP(K), together with the hospital management. The visit was led by Prof. Dr. dr. drs. H. Kusmardi, M.Sc., CIRR, Chair of the Assessment Team, accompanied by Prof. dr. Tri Wibawa, Ph.D., Sp.MK(K) and the FK USU accreditation team. During the visit, the assessors inspected clinical facilities, healthcare service units, and learning facilities utilized in the Medical Doctor Professional Program, while also holding discussions with the hospital leadership regarding the implementation of clinical education, healthcare services, and the supervision of medical professional students.

The assessment team then visited Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Hospital, where they were welcomed by President Director dr. Inke Nadia Diniyanti Lubis, PGDip PID, FAAET, M.Ked(Ped), Sp.A., Ph.D., along with the hospital management. During the visit, Dr. dr. Muhammad Hidayat, Sp.M(K) and Dr. dr. Azzaki Abubakar, Sp.PD-KGEH conducted an evaluation of the hospital's healthcare facilities, clinical teaching resources, and the implementation of student learning activities to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
The final external visit was conducted at Simpang Limun Community Health Center (Puskesmas Simpang Limun), which serves as a primary healthcare teaching facility. The visit was guided by Dr. dr. Veronika Ika Budiastuti, M.Pd., accompanied by the FK USU accreditation team. The assessment focused on the implementation of primary healthcare-based education, including the adequacy of facilities, the clinical supervision system, and students' learning experiences in delivering healthcare services to the community.

Following the visits to the clinical education sites, the assessment continued at the Faculty of Medicine USU, where the assessors inspected several academic departments and laboratories as part of the verification of educational support facilities. The team reviewed teaching facilities, clinical skills laboratories, basic medical and biomedical laboratories, practical classrooms, and other academic support facilities. The objective was to ensure that all educational infrastructure at FK USU meets quality standards, supports effective teaching and learning, and provides an environment that enables students to achieve the program's intended learning outcomes.

The site assessment also contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being through strengthening the education of qualified healthcare professionals, SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting the continuous improvement of medical education, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration between FK USU, its teaching hospitals, and primary healthcare facilities in developing an outstanding medical education ecosystem.
