News Research Community SDGs 3 SDGs 17 Research Activity Community Service Activity

USU Faculty of Medicine and North Nias Regency Government Strengthen Healthcare Service Collaboration, Support SDGs 3 and 17 In her remarks, dr. Inke Nadia reaffirmed FK USU’s commitment to supporting government programs, particularly the policies of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of North Sumatra Province, in strengthening healthcare services in underdeveloped and island regions, including Nias Island. One tangible manifestation of this commitment is prioritizing native Nias' sons and daughter (youths) who are committed to returning to serve their hometowns to enroll in the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) at FK USU, supported by funding from the Government of North Sumatra Province. 04 March 2026

FK USU Delegation Wins 1st Place in Literature Review at FASCIA FK UHT 2026 A proud achievement was earned by the delegation from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The team, consisting of Ananda Putri Miftahul Janah (Student ID 230100176) and Alexander Williams Manalu (Student ID 230100086), secured 1st Place in the Literature Review category at Festival Science Competition (FASCIA) FK UHT 2026. 19 February 2026

Conferment of Expertise Certificates to 10 Specialists in Dermatology, Venereology, and Aesthetics of FK USU Marks a Milestone in Strengthening Alumni Professionalism “This is a joyful moment for the 10 specialists in Dermatology, Venereology, and Aesthetics who were inaugurated today and have received their competency certification as medical specialists. Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara Inaugurates 21 New Doctors, Dean Emphasizes the Doctor’s Oath as a Lifelong Commitment The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), Aldy Safruddin Rambe, emphasized that the Doctor’s Oath is not merely a ceremonial formality, but a moral and spiritual commitment that must be upheld throughout one’s lifetime. Newly inaugurated doctors are expected to consistently adhere to the medical code of ethics, comply with the law, continuously enhance their competencies through internships and the dynamic development of medical science, and be ready to serve wherever they are needed. 11 February 2026

SRF 2026 Fosters a Strong Scientific Climate Among Medical Students Nationwide, FK USU Wins Four Championship Titles Proud achievements were earned by the delegation of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) at the Scripta Research Festival (SRF) 2026. FK USU students demonstrated outstanding academic quality and research capabilities by winning multiple awards across various competition categories. 04 February 2026

USU Rector Hands Over Bore Well Assistance for Communities Affected by the Disaster in Aceh Tamiang The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Director of RSUD Aceh Tamiang and all staff for the warm welcome and openness extended, which made the aid distribution and sharing activities run smoothly. On that occasion, USU provided assistance in the form of nine bore-well units and two water distillation units, which will be installed at several strategic locations across the Aceh Tamiang area. 01 February 2026
