Morning Assembly of the FK USU Academic Community: The Leader Emphasizes Completion of SKP and Appreciates Performance Achievements Mrs. Nenni, as the morning assembly supervisor, expressed her appreciation and gratitude to all members of the Faculty of Medicine academic community for their performance and dedication throughout the previous year. Big appreciation to strong cooperation and effective synergy, the Faculty of Medicine achieved a budget absorption rate of approximately 94 percent, marking the highest achievement compared to previous years. 20 January 2026

FK USU Delegation Wins Bronze Medal at the International IPITEx 2026 Event The FK USU delegation consisting of Ayesha Zahira Afhamy, Bintang Aly Zacky, Jhosua Claudio Sinurat, Muhammad Shadia, Ratu Salsabila, and Winda Chairunnur Hamid successfully captured the judges’ attention through an innovation entitled HYURA (Hydrogel Natural). This innovation is a natural herbal-based product designed to support muscle recovery and prevent complications caused by muscle fatigue, demonstrating strong potential for application in the medical and health sectors. The team was awarded a Bronze Medal at IPITEx 2026 in Bangkok. 12 January 2026

With 189 Field Deployments, USU Faculty of Medicine Asserts Its Active Role in Disaster Response The Medical Team Coordinator of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), dr. Inke Nadia Diniyanti Lubis, PGDip PID., FAAET., M.Ked(Ped)., Sp.A., Ph.D., stated that the high intensity and broad coverage of services reflect a sustainable approach to disaster management. According to her, disaster response cannot be carried out sporadically; it requires the consistent presence of medical teams that are capable of adapting to the dynamic needs in the field. 01 January 2026

USU Peduli, Faculty of Medicine USU, and Artha Graha Peduli Continue Emergency Disaster Response Community Service A total of 355 residents took part in the free health services provided, which included medical examinations and treatment, distribution of medicines, ready-to-eat food packages, Basic Life Support (BLS) services, and psychosocial consultations. These services were intended to support the recovery of physical health as well as provide mental health support for the community in the post-disaster period. 23 December 2025

USU Provides Post-Disaster Psychosocial Support in Medan Marelan In particular, the activity was attended by 72 elderly participants who showed high enthusiasm throughout the entire series of activities. As a closing session, all participants took part in elderly exercise, symbolizing the growth of positive energy and shared hope to recover together. 22 December 2025
