Field Assessment of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Sub-Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara Prof. Dr. Dwiana Ocviyanti, Sp.OG(K), MPH, the assessor team, said there are two stages in the accreditation process: the first stage of adequacy assessment and the second stage of field assessment. At the adequacy assessment stage, the study program uploads the required files and documents. At the field assessment stage, the assessor team reviews the documents for validation. 18 April 2025

Faculty of Medicine USU Receives Visit from SDGHI and NDCS to Strengthen International Cooperation FK USU received a visit from SDGHI and NDCS to discuss the potential extension of the cooperation between USU and SDGHI and possible forms of cooperation in the coming years. In addition, SDGHI presented information regarding the call for research grant proposals under various schemes. SDGHI and the first—and second-year grant recipients also exchanged insights on their experiences and potential improvements in the proposal submission process, with the hope of increasing both the quality and quantity of accepted proposals in the following year. 16 April 2025

Faculty of Medicine USU Guest Lecture Raises Issues on Lifestyle Medicine, Featuring an Expert from Stanford University Prof. Rusly explained that lifestyle medicine is a rapidly emerging field in line with the growing public demand for health and wellness. He also presented various studies he has conducted in the field and encouraged students of the Faculty of Medicine USU to consider lifestyle medicine as a research topic. 29 March 2025

USU Faculty of Medicine Integrated Laboratory Participates in “Genomics Epidemiology of Viral Pathogens” Training Workshop at National University of Singapore’s Main Campus, Singapore This workshop focuses on the application of bioinformatics for sequencing data analysis. The activity begins with introductory material on the basics of genomic epidemiology, including the use of genomic data combined with individual metadata to identify demographic and genomic factors that influence pathogen transmission patterns 11 March 2025

Guest Lecture by Mie National Hospital, Japan Representatives Some of the benefits of this activity include adding scientific insight and showing FK USU's commitment to producing quality graduates who can compete at the national and international levels. The Integrated Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara Receives Recognition from KAN as a Testing and Calibration Laboratory In this regard, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K)., expressed his appreciation to the entire team of the Integrated Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine of USU for their hard work in achieving this accreditation. Delegation of the Faculty of Medicine of USU Wins 1st Place in the Scientific Essay Competition at the 2025 EXIT MRC Event The 2025 EXIT MRC Event aims to enhance medical students' research and innovation skills while promoting high-quality scientific works. By participating in this competition, medical students can develop their abilities in conducting research, analyzing data, and effectively presenting their findings. This event also features various competition categories, including literature reviews, public posters, educational videos, scientific essays, and a national seminar. 19 February 2025
