USU Faculty of Medicine Participates in PREPARE in Singapore The PREPARE Regional RESPIRO Investigator Meeting and Workshop on Metagenomic Sequencing of Respiratory Viruses aims to bring together all RESPIRO research sites from six countries (Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam) in a forum for discussion on study progress, sharing best practices, training on protocol implementation, and discussing technical issues encountered in the implementation of research. 04 June 2025

Guslihan Dasatjipta, Sp.A(K), was appointed spokesperson for the Faculty of Medicine USU Council of Professors. In his statement, Prof. Guslihan commented on several Ministry of Health policies, which he described as lacking a medical science background and are considered to significantly disrupt the stability and independence of medical education in Indonesia. 21 May 2025

Fakultas Kedokteran USU Menjalin Kerjasama dengan Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Sumatera Utara This signing aims to fully support the North Sumatra Governor's work program in strengthening human resource (HR) development through the proposal of a specialist medical education program (PPDS) in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost regions (DTPK), especially in the Nias Islands region. Therefore, it seeks to provide better access to health services for the Nias Islands community by bringing professional specialist doctors directly to the region. 17 May 2025

Faculty of Medicine USU Inaugurates 160 New Doctors in the Third Period of the 2024/2025 Academic Year The graduates are responsible for working professionally, upholding ethics, and complying with all regulations. For the next year, new doctors will receive training through an intensive program guided by supervising doctors. 08 May 2025

USU Faculty of Medicine Conducts Hybrid AHS with Six Provinces in Sumatra Island Vice Dean I of FK USU, Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked (PA), Sp.PA (K) also said that FK USU has an active role in helping services in the regions, including sending final stage resident doctors to Riau, Riau Islands and other areas, which aims to help improve health services, especially in the field of specialization where there are no specialists in the area. In addition, 14 local hospitals (RSUD) are also supported by FK USU to help improve health services. FK USU, together with the North Sumatra Provincial Government, also cooperates in building the provision of Human Resources (HR), namely specialist doctors in West Nias, North Nias, and South Nias. 03 May 2025
