Welcoming a New Generation, FK USU 2026 PKKMB Officially Opens The 2026 PKKMB at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) was officially opened with the ceremonial striking of a gong by the Dean of FK USU, marking the beginning of the three-day campus orientation series from August 12–14, 2026. A total of 261 new students participated in the program, which serves as an important first step in becoming familiar with the academic environment, culture, and student life at FK USU. 12 August 2026

FK USU Women’s Volleyball Team Wins Third Place in the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence Competition The FK USU Women’s Volleyball Team secured third place in the USU-level women’s volleyball competition held as part of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The achievement was made possible through collaboration between faculty members and education staff, demonstrating a strong spirit of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. 12 August 2026

Prof. Tri Widyawati of FK USU Participates in International Collaborative Research Funded by Malaysia’s FRGS Prof. dr. Tri Widyawati, M.Si., Ph.D., serves as a Co-Researcher in a collaborative research project with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), funded through the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) with a total grant of RM123,700. The research investigates the effects of free fatty acids in nipa palm vinegar on glucose homeostasis using a type 2 diabetes mellitus model. 11 August 2026
